The Chapel Hill Garden Tour will be held Saturday, April 28, 10am-4pm and Sunday, April 29, 11am-4pm, 2018. As home to the country’s first public university, Chapel Hill is rightly proud of its higher education legacy. This year’s Chapel Hill Garden Tour celebrates the mutually beneficial relationship between the University of North Carolina and the local Chapel Hill Community. At its best, this Town and Gown collaboration exemplifies the hospitable heart and soul of the “Southern Part of Heaven.” We will feature the UNC President’s Garden, current and former UNC official’s private gardens, four distinctive local gardens, UNC’s Coker Arboretum, and the North Carolina Botanical Garden. Plein air artists, musicians and select garden related vendors will add additional charm to several gardens.

A photography contest with prizes and an exhibition is open to all.

As a celebration and kick-off of the Garden Tour, join with other garden lovers for Stroll into Spring on April 26th, 6-8 pm at the North Carolina Botanical Garden. Dr. Damon Waitt, the Garden’s Director, will preview exciting plans for the future of the Botanical Garden. Our generous Tour Garden Hosts will be thanked for sharing their gardens and presented with a commemorative gift. Appetizers, beer, and wine will be enjoyed!
