“Step into Spring”

Join the North Carolina Botanical Garden on Thursday, April 28, from 6:30-8:30, as we host “Step into Spring,” a celebration of the upcoming Chapel Hill Garden Tour on Saturday, April 30 and Sunday, May 1. Enjoy the splendor of a Carolina spring during an evening at the Garden. Light hors d’oeuvres with wine and beer will be served and the Chapel Hill Garden Club will recognize the homeowners opening their beautiful gardens to tour enthusiasts.

The highlight of the evening will be a presentation by the celebrated landscape architect and historic preservationist Chip Callaway of Greensboro’s Callaway and Associates. Since 1980, Chip has completed commissions from Nantucket to Palm Springs and beyond. Chip has designed two of the gardens on this year’s tour – the Fitch-Sweets Garden and the Coker/Burns Garden. Logan Ward, in his article “The Garden Artist,” in the December 2009-January 2010 issue of Garden and Gun, proclaimed “Landscape architect Chip Callaway’s Southern designs are a study in living history.”
