I Wish You A Boat

The Ward Theatre Company presents its second production of the year, I Wish You a Boat, an original theater piece created by Artistic Director, Wendy Ward. Upon its premiere in New York in 2005, the Company received two nominations for outstanding acting from New York Innovative Theater Awards. The show was subsequently recast with an international ensemble and traveled to Philadelphia and Melbourne, Australia.

Melbourne Arts critic Peter Green said, “They are the new kids on the block and have bravely staked out their territory with I Wish You A Boat…a brilliant and I cannot over stress BRILLIANT second act. It’s the best depiction of that kind of event I have ever seen…I was shell-shocked. This performance is truly ensemble and is extremely well directed by Wendy Ward. All I can say is people should get themselves along. I cannot speak too highly of it.”

Earlier this year, the Company’s NC premiere production JACUZZI received 4-1/2 stars and was described by Triangle Theater Critic Byron Woods as “the hottest show in town.”
