Going/Home: A Musical Show About Being There and Getting There for the Holidays

December 19, 2014 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Transactors Improv presents Going/Home: An Improv Show About Being There and Getting There for the Holidays, Dec. 19 at The ArtsCenter. This two-act show features live musical accompaniment by Fred Jacobowitz (clarinet), Rob Ladd (drums), and musical director Glenn Mehrbach (piano).

“Whatever your religion or lack thereof may be, the holidays are usually about home,” says director Greg Hohn. “We seem to be heading there or waiting for others to arrive to celebrate the various things we celebrate. Sometimes we’re just going home in our minds to a simpler time in the past or a better time in the future.

“The audience will follow numerous characters and their storylines as they reunite with family for the holidays. While not being an out-and-out musical, the show will have lots of music, including singing by the actors. Everything is improvised, including the melodies, lyrics, and choreography.”

Transactors Anoo Brod, Greg Hohn, Bart Hubbard, Juliet Kaplan, and Steve Scott make up the cast, along with guest performer Sarah Eldred, a member of local improvisers Group Hug. Jenn Evans masters technical effects from the booth.
